Individually
Identifiable Information
EMSI recognizes that the growth of online services has
created many privacy concerns, particularly for consumers.
These concerns focus on protecting "individually identifiable"
information that an individual or customer reasonably expects to be kept
private. As the term suggests, individually identifiable information is
information that can be associated with a specific individual or entity,
such as name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and/or
information about online activities directly linked to them.
It is common practice and often a necessity for companies, governments
or other organizations to collect individually identifiable information
in order to conduct business and offer services. For example, a
telecommunications provider may collect individually identifiable
information in the course of billing and providing telephone service to
a customer.

Some activities on the Internet follow very familiar patterns. Business
Web sites may ask visitors to supply information about themselves,
particularly when information, services or merchandise are requested, but
often simply to be able to better target the company's services to the
customer's interests and requirements.
EMSI's
Online Privacy Policy: Informed Choice
EMSI has developed the following online privacy policy to
protect individually identifiable information. This policy covers
EMSI
and its subsidiaries and applies to all individually
identifiable information that
EMSI
obtains when a customer visits a
EMSI
owned and controlled Web site.
EMSI protects online individually identifiable information as
follows:
Disclosure.
EMSI
will not sell, trade or disclose to third parties any
individually identifiable information derived from the registration for or
use of a
EMSI
online service without the consent of the customer (except as
required by subpoena, search warrant or other legal process or in the case
of imminent physical harm to the customer or others). When
EMSI
uses other agents, contractors or companies to perform services on its
behalf,
EMSI
will ensure that the company protects your individually
identifiable information consistent with this policy.
EMSI
will collect and use individually identifiable information to
respond to inquiries regarding or requests for services, to anticipate and
resolve problems with your service, or to create and inform you of
products and services that better meet your needs. This means that
EMSI
may use your individually identifiable information to market
new services to you that we think will be of interest to you, but we will
not disclose your individually identifiable information to third parties
who want to market products to you.
Customer Choice. A customer may choose not to
receive direct marketing communications from
EMSI
in connection with
EMSI
services. Upon such choice,
EMSI
(a) will not contact that customer directly with marketing messages about
EMSI online services, and (b) will not use individually
identifiable information obtained from that customer's use of our website
to contact that customer with marketing messages about any
EMSI
products or services. A customer may choose not to receive
such messages by e-mail, by mail or by telephone.
For information and instructions about how to make this choice follow
these Opt-Out Instructions…
Opt-Out Instructions:
Call us at [877-665-9801] or use our online contact form on our contact page to send us a
message stating that you wish to no longer receive marketing messages from
us.
Collection of usage data.
EMSI
servers and third party website analytics automatically gather
information about which of our ads visitors see on other websites, which
sites customers visit on the Internet and which pages are visited within a
EMSI Web site. This information is not individually
identifiable by
EMSI
and the
EMSI
does not use that information except in the aggregate.
Security.
EMSI
does not seek to collect financially sensitive information
such as banking information and social security numbers online. Although
EMSI
does not
seek to share any individually identifiable
information voluntarily collected on its websites,
EMSI
does not guarantee the security of the information collected. Information
is provided by you online at your own risk. As an alternative to
submitting any individually identifiable
information online, you can call
EMSI
at the phone number supplied on the website’s contact
page.
E-mail Contents.
The company will not read or disclose to third parties private e-mail
communications that are transmitted using
EMSI
services except as required to operate the service or as
otherwise authorized by law.
Account Information.
EMSI
honors requests from customers for account information, such
as name, address, or billing information, and will correct any such
information that is inaccurate. Customers may verify that appropriate
corrections have been made.
Customer Concerns. If you are a consumer with concerns about the
EMSI online privacy policy or its implementation, you may call
us at [877-665-9801].
Changes in Practices.
EMSI
will keep this policy current and you can periodically check this web page
for any changes.
Additional Privacy Protections for Children Using the Internet
EMSI joins the industry in recognizing that children,
including young teens, may not be in a position to make informed choices
about personal information requested online.
Accordingly,
EMSI
does not target children or teenagers (younger than 18) for
collection of information online.
EMSI
does not solicit or collect individually identifiable
information targeted at children and teenagers under 18 and does not allow
anyone else to do so on a
EMSI
Web site. In addition, the editorial content of
EMSI
Web sites designed for children will not knowingly promote or
link to any third-party Web site that collects individually identifiable
information unless that site publishes an easily accessible privacy
policy.
Finally,
EMSI
encourages parents to take an active role to protect the
privacy and security of their children and to prevent the inappropriate
use of information about their children.
